1. Terms of Reference |
| For the purposes of the terms and conditions herein, the term following terms will apply |
| The "Organiser” shall mean SINGAPORE ACTUARIAL SOCIETY (SAS) The “Conference” herein refers to the 17th East Asian Actuarial Conference (17th EAAC) The “Event Venue” refers to the Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore The “Conference Date” refers to 15 - 18 October 2013 |
2. Application for Conference |
| The submission of the Online Conference Registration Form (“Form”) shall be deemed as an acceptance of the terms and conditions herein by the delegate. The application procedure is complete only when the registration form and payment are received by the Organiser. Participants attending the Event do so at your own risk. Please ensure you have adequate insurance coverage. |
3. Payment |
| a. | The 17th EAAC registration fees are listed in the table above. |
| b. | Full payment is required upon submission of your registration form. All Finance charges incurred are to be borne by the delegate. Confirmation of registration is only upon receipt of full payment. |
| | Conference fees include admission to Conference sessions, lunches, coffee breaks, registration materials & Welcome Cocktail Reception. Participation in the Half-Day Tour & Farewell Gala Dinner is on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to availability. The accompanying person’s rate gives access to the Half-day Tour & Farewell Gala Dinner, subject to availability. |
| c. | All registration forms and payment MUST reach the Singapore Actuarial Society by 30 September 2013. Thereafter, delegates are subjected to Walk-in Rates. |
| d. | Payment must be made in full upon submission of the registration form. |
| e. | Payment may be made via the following methods: |
| i) | Corporate/company/personal cheque (in SGD) or bank draft made payable to SINGAPORE ACTUARIAL SOCIETY |
| ii) | Telegraphic transfer (all finance charges are to be borne in FULL by the delegate). | iii) | PayPal (PayPal finance charges of 3.4% + SGD 0.50 of total amount is borne by the delegate). |
| f. | The Organiser shall not be responsible for any airfare, ground transportation, lodging or incidental or any other costs incurred by delegates for attending or otherwise participating in the Conference. |
| g. | The Organiser reserves the right to review and amend the rate as applied herein if and when necessary. Any changes in rates will be reflected on the official 17th EAAC website and relevant pages on the website located at www.actuariesasia.org and those rates will prevail |
4. Cancellation/Postponement of the Conference |
| a. | If, for any reason, the Conference, or any part thereof, is prevented from being held, or the Event Venue becomes unavailable, the Organiser may cancel or postpone the Conference. In such event, the Organiser shall not be responsible for delays, damage, loss, increased costs, or other unfavourable conditions arising by virtue thereof, and the delegate(s) waive(s) all or any claim(s) for loss, expense or damage against the Organiser arising there from. |
| b. | If the delegate is unable to attend the Conference, a substitute delegate is welcomed at NO extra charge provided written notification is given to the Organiser by 30 September 2013. |
| c. | Refunds will be made for cancellations received in writing (by e-mail or fax) before 16 August 2013. A cancellation fee of 20% of registration fee per delegate is applicable. No request for refunds will be entertained after this date. |
5. Change of Conference Date, Speakers, Programme Content and Venue |
| The Organiser reserves the right to change the Conference Date, speakers, programme content and Event Venue should circumstances so require. |
6. Refusal of Admission |
| The Organiser reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any person from the Conference & Exhibition at its absolute discretion, without incurring any liability whatsoever. This will include anyone deemed drunk, disorderly, under the influence of drugs or other substance, other than that which is medically prescribed, or whose dress appearance or general behaviour is liable to disturb any Exhibitor or persons attending the Event. |
7. Venue Regulations |
| The delegate(s) shall abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Event Venue. Failure to comply with the Rules and Regulations will constitute grounds for breach of the terms and conditions herein. A copy of the Rules and Regulations may be obtained from the Organiser. |
8. Breach of Terms and Conditions |
| In cases where the delegate(s) fails to observe and perform any of the terms and conditions herein, the Organiser shall reserve the right to refuse performance of all its obligations herein towards the delegate(s) and all fees paid by the delegate(s) to the Organiser will be forfeited. The delegate(s) shall furthermore indemnify the Organiser for all losses and damages resulting from such failure in observing or performing the terms and conditions herein. |
9. Exclusion of Liability |
| The Organiser, its sub-contractors, agent and/or employees have the right to immediately alter or cancel the Conference or any arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating directly or indirectly to the Conference. The delegates shall not be entitled to any compensation for damages that result from such alteration or cancellation. Furthermore, neither the , its sub-contractors, agent and/or employees shall at any time be liable for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever , howsoever suffered by any of the delegate(s) or any loss or damage to property of any delegate(s) arising form or in connection with his/her participation in the Conference. |
10. Force Majeure |
| The Organiser shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under the terms and conditions herein due to circumstances beyond the control and without the fault or negligence of the Organiser including war (declared or undeclared), natural disaster, acts of God, fire, blockades, earthquakes, acts of terrorism and matters beyond the Organiser’s reasonable control. |
11. Interpretation, Governing Law and Jurisdiction |
| Interpretation of the terms and conditions herein lies solely with the Organiser. The terms and conditions herein shall be governed by and construed according to Singapore law. The parties hereto hereby agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts. |
12. Successors in Title and Lawful Assigns |
| The terms and conditions herein shall be binding upon the parties, its successors in title and lawful assigns. |
